PUBLIC COMMISSIONS

The oaths of office for elected and appointed local officials, as well as officials appointed by the Governor for certain boards and commissions, are administered by the Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Notary Public Commissions: Applications for Notary Public Commission can be obtained from the Secretary of State in Annapolis, Maryland or you may download the application at the Secretary of State's web site (www.sos.state.md.us).

When your application has been submitted and approved by the Secretary of State, you will be notified to appear before the Clerk of the Circuit Court to take the oath of office and receive your Notary Commission. The fee is $20.00, payable to the Secretary of State, with your application, and then $11.00 payable to the Clerk of the Circuit Court at the time you are sworn in.
