Ann Shortall was appointed
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot County in 1985, and elected to a
four-year term in November 1986. Ms. Shortall has been reelected
every four years since 1986. She has 30 years of varied working experience
within the Clerk's office.
The Clerk's responsibilities include
supervising Clerk's office personnel in the civil, criminal, courtroom
clerks, business license, marriage license, land records, and juvenile
units. Ms. Shortall is responsible for administering a budget, performing
civil marriages, and jury clerk.
