The Circuit Court for Talbot County
has recently opened the For All Seasons Family Visitation Center.

parents do not have direct contact with one another during the exchange.

CUSTODY/VISITATION
MEDIATION PROGRAM
When the Court determines that custody/visitation
is an issue in a case, the parties are referred by Court Order to an appropriate
Court approved private mediator. Parties are ordered to attend two, 2-hour
sessions with the assigned mediator. If an agreement is reached, the mediator
may draft a parenting plan which is forwarded to the parties and their
attorneys.
Before the first mediation session,
a Mediation Information Packet is sent to each party. This packet explains
in detail the mediation process and spells out the numerous benefits. Additionally,
there is a Personal Information Form that is to be completed and brought
to the first session. The cost oft he mediation is $75 per session for
each party plus an additional $25 administration fee for a total of $400.
The Court determines the responsibility of payment, usually split between
the parties. A party who is indigent may apply for a mediation fee waiver.
