NOTICE: Use of cell phones and other electronic devices is prohibited in designated areas of the courthouse. Cell phones and all other electronic devices must be turned OFF and be inoperable when in a courtroom or in the hallways on the floors of the courthouse where courtrooms are located. The use of any camera, cell phone, or any electronic device for taking, recording, or transmitting photographs, videos, or other visual images is prohibited in the courthouse at all times, unless the court expressly grants permission in a specific instance. NOTARY PUBLIC COMMISSION
Applications for Notary Commissions can be obtained from the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Washington County.  If you would like one mailed to your home, contact the Clerk's Office at (301) 790-7991.  When your application has been submitted and approved by the Secretary of State, you will be notified to appear before the Clerk of the Circuit Court to take the oath of office and receive your Notary Commission.  The fee is $20.00 with your application, and then $11.00 at the time you are sworn in.  For more information on becoming a notary public or to download an application, please visit the Secretary of State's web site.
