What to expect after applying
Each job announcement has a closing date listed. Once the position closes, the resumes
are then either reviewed by Human Resources or the local HR representative in the
jurisdiction. (This may take 2-3 weeks following the closing date) The hiring official then reviews the applications and selects for interviewing, those meeting the minimum qualifications. Then applicants are called for interviews and the interviews take place. (This may take another week or two depending upon the number of candidates interviewed). After all eligible candidates are interviewed the hiring official and/or interview panel will make their decision. The hiring official then notifies the human resources department of their selected candidate and sends the required paper work to HR for review. Once HR has approved the selected candidate the hiring official is notified and will then call the candidate with an offer. This entire process may take from six to eight weeks following the closing date of the job.
