General Information about law clerks as employees of the State of Maryland Judiciary 

Information for newly appointed law clerks:

    • Instructions PDF 
    • Sign and date the form 
  • Judiciary Employment Application Word PDF
    • You must complete sections I and IV 
    • You must sign and date page 4 
    • You may complete section III, or attach your resume
  • Authorization for Access to Records  fillable PDF 
    • Complete all sections 
    • Sign and date at the bottom
  • Law Clerk Payroll and Benefits Session
    • Please have your law clerk contact Andree Latortue at 410-260-1721 or via email (andree.latortue@mdcourts.gov) to enroll in an upcoming law clerk session in the second half of July. 
    • Directions are enclosed for the location of the sessions 
    • Allow 1 to 1 ½ hours for the session 
    • We will review the employee benefits available to you 
    • We will issue you a Judiciary Photo ID 
    • You will complete a W-4 Tax withholding form 
    • You will complete an Employment Eligibility Form (I-9)
  • What to bring with you to the Sessions 
    • A copy of your certified marriage certificate (signed by the clerk of the court) 
    • A copy of a birth certificate for each eligible dependent you wish to cover 
    • Bring the appropriate documentation for the Employment Elibility Form (I-9). See a List of Acceptable Documents (from the I-9 Form).
