Important Information About E-filing
E‑filing is not mandatory if you do not have an attorney.
Form for filing confidential documents (Rule 20-201.1)
- If you register and e-file one time, you MUST, pursuant to Rule 20-106 (a)(3):
- E-file ALL future documents
- E-file in ALL future cases
- Review the statewide MDEC Policies and Procedures before making a decision.
- You must comply with Rule 20-201.
- You must have an email address and valid credit card.
- E-filing is available in all Maryland jurisdictions.
- E-filing is offered by multiple E-filing service providers. Contact information for certified vendors can be found here.
Important Information About Retrieving Case Records
- You can view your case record on a public kiosk located in an MDEC courthouse.
- If you would like to view your case record (including documents) remotely on a computer or device, 1) register to view documents online (see instructions below). You don't have to e-file into the court to access your case record (and documents) remotely. 2) Print and complete the Application for Party Access to MDEC Cases (MDJ-004). The application must contain an original signature and notary seal to confirm your identity. Submit the completed form to the court.
