Prince George's County District Court honors adult drug court graduates
Prince George’s County District Court will honor five graduates on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, as they celebrate their sobriety and successful completion of the adult drug court, a rigorous, court-supervised alternative sentencing program. Since the Prince George’s County District Court Adult Drug Court began in June 2006, 89 graduates have successfully completed the program.
Devin D. Smith, a business consultant who works with local minority entrepreneurs to improve communities, will serve as the keynote speaker. After being incarcerated, Smith graduated from North Carolina State University and migrated to Washington, D.C. Smith is currently working on a series entitled, “Letters from America’s Third World,” a project highlighting perspectives from the formerly incarcerated, members of the criminal justice system, and those working to transform it.
