Judicial Information Systems (JIS) was made aware of a situation with the State Bar of California during which confidential information was erroneously obtained and posted online by judyrecords.com via their record portal. Upon learning of the incident, JIS immediately restricted access to the MDEC portal, began working with the vendor to remove any possible vulnerabilities, and ultimately implemented a secure solution.
There have been no instances of any compromised information in Maryland, and we have a secure version of the software.
Therefore, we have enabled the portal. We apologize for the delay, but we feel it was the right decision in light of the seriousness of the situation in California.
