(Annapolis, MD — November 12, 2004) The Maryland State Law Library’s Anniversary Lecture Series continues in November with a lecture on “The Future of Legal Research,” given by Amy E. Sloan, Associate Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Legal Skills Program at the University of Baltimore School of Law. The lecture will focus on the growth in usage of technology as well as examine the potential future of paper formats in legal research. The lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 17th, at noon at the Maryland State Law Library, located in the Robert C. Murphy Courts of Appeal Building, 361 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis. Professor Sloan began her teaching
career at the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law.
She also taught at The George Washington University Law School, where she
directed the Legal Research and Writing Program. In 2001, Professor Sloan
joined the University of Baltimore law faculty to lead the Legal Skills
Program jointly with Professor Eric B. Easton. Professor Sloan speaks regularly
about legal writing and research, most recently at the Maryland Judicial
Institute’s program on trial court opinion writing and at the Legal Writing
Institute’s national conference.
