Judiciary To Hold Minority Business Enterprise Outreach


(ANNAPOLIS, MD— September 27, 2004) The Maryland Judiciary will hold its Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Business Outreach on Tuesday, October 5, at Frostburg State University’s Lane Center in Frostburg, Md., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The outreach is free to the public, and will provide seminars on creating and building business relationships with the Maryland Judiciary and Frostburg State University. The event will also provide the opportunity for small and local businesses to network with other businesses and government agencies.

The Court’s Executive Director of Procurement and Contract Administration Daniel A. Coleman and Frostburg State University President Dr. Catherine Gira will provide opening remarks. Katie Knowlin, Director of the Office of Minority Business Enterprise for the Maryland Department of Transportation; Everett J. Ross, Director of Equal Opportunity Programs for the Department of Business and Economic Development; David C. Rose, Associate Vice President for Budget and Planning at Frostburg State University; and Daniel A. Coleman will lead seminars at the event.

The mission of the Maryland Judiciary’s MBE program is to ensure equal access to contracting opportunities for certified minority businesses seeking to do business with the courts. This commitment translates into opportunities for firms with a devotion to providing quality services and creative solutions.
