District Court Judges to Gather
for Judicial Education Conference

(Annapolis, MD — October 5, 2005) District Court judges from across the state will assemble for an educational conference on Friday, October 7, in the Judiciary Training Center in Annapolis. The daylong conference will include sessions on case law, chambers’ issues for judges, and a discussion of identity theft and its effect on the District Court process.

Judges will also observe a lunchtime demonstration by a Smart Car – one of only 50 virtual interactive cruisers of its kind in the state – and a reality DUI demonstration, featuring field test challenges under the supervision of the Maryland State Police.

The conference will be the first for the District Court judges since the Hon. Ben C. Clyburn was appointed Chief Judge of the District Court in December of 2004.
