Somerset Circuit Court Conducts County’s First Spanish Wedding Ceremony

(Princess Anne, MD – June 27, 2005) Somerset County Circuit Court conducted its first civil ceremony entirely in Spanish at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 19.

Agustin Trejo Rodrigues and Maria Guadalupe Hernandez-Alvarez, both Princess Anne residents, were married by Virginia Thornton, deputy clerk, who performed the ceremony in Spanish.

Bulmaro Treso Hernandez, son of the bride, and Linda Marsh, deputy clerk, served as witnesses.

The Circuit Court now has a bi-lingual temporary employee who assists the many Spanish-speaking clients using court services, said Ted Phoebus, clerk of the Circuit Court.
