Judge Thomas J. Love Named Administrative Judge

(Annapolis, MD — June 19, 2007) District Judge Thomas J. Love has been named administrative judge of Prince George’s County (District Five). District Chief Judge Ben C. Clyburn announced the appointment today.

As the administrative judge for the county, Judge Love is responsible for administration of the court, the supervision of all judges, officers and employees. He is also charged with the expeditious disposition of cases, management of the trial calendar and oversight of the court’s budget and procurement functions.

Judge Love has been in charge of the civil docket and was instrumental in the expansion of the Alternative Dispute Resolution program in Prince George’s County.

Judge Love has served as an associate judge since June 1997. Before his appointment to the bench, he served as mayor and mayor pro tem of the Town of Berwyn Heights and member of the Berwyn Heights Town Council. He also served as vice chair of Prince George’s County’s parking authority.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Judge Love received his law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1981 and his bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College in 1975.
