(ELLICOTT CITY, MD — January 14, 2008) The chairperson of the Committee of Sitting Judges of the Howard County Circuit Court announced today that the position of Howard County state's attorney will be re-advertised.

The intervening Christmas and New Year's holidays may not have provided sufficient time for those who may be interested in applying to submit an application, the committee said. In addition, the prior advertisement for the position did not make it clear that the names of all applicants for the position would be made public.

The deadline for applicants to the position of Howard County state's attorney has been extended to February 15, 2008, close of business, and the position will be re-advertised to include this information.

The position became available upon the swearing in of the Honorable Timothy J. McCrone, former Howard County state's attorney, to the position of Judge of the Circuit Court of Howard County.
