(ANNAPOLIS, Md. – July 17, 2009) The Maryland Judiciary’s Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO) will host a free program about family mediation to help people who work with families dealing with the poor economy, domestic violence, aging, and other issues. The program will be held on Thursday, July 23, 6:30-9 p.m., at the University of Baltimore Student Center Performing Arts Theater, 21 West Mount Royal Ave., Baltimore.

The presentation and discussion, “Mediating with Families Today: Economics, Lifestyle Choices, Domestic Violence, Aging, and More,” will be led by Zena D. Zumeta, well-known mediator, trainer, facilitator and consultant. President of the Mediation Training and Consultation Institute and the Collaborative Workplace in Ann Arbor, Mich., Zumeta has trained lawyers, psychologists, social workers, educators and other professionals working with divorcing families, and has been called the ‘grandmother of divorce mediation’ in Michigan. Zumeta has provided mediation services for 28 years, making her practice one of the oldest in the state.

MACRO is hosting the event with the Negotiations and Conflict Management Program at the University of Baltimore.
