New Rule Governs Cell Phones, Cameras and Electronic Devices in Maryland Courts

(ANNAPOLIS, Md. – December 29, 2010) New Maryland Rule 16-110 goes into effect on January 1, 2011. The Rule governs the possession and use of cell phones, cameras, computers, and other electronic devices in court facilities.

Under Maryland Rule 16-110, if a cell phone, camera, computer, or other electronic device is brought into a court facility, it is subject to inspection and may be used only in accordance with the Rule and the court’s orders.
