Visiting the Library

Notice: The Thurgood Marshall State Law Library will be closed on Saturday, November 9, 2024 and Monday, November 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans Day.

Our public computer stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Staff will impose a 15-minute limit if patrons are waiting. 

The internet and our databases are accessible via WiFi. If you bring a laptop, time restrictions will not apply. 

If you bring a flash drive, you may scan items using our photocopiers at no cost. Otherwise, standard copier and printer fees will apply. (April 4, 2022)

The Thurgood Marshall State Law Library is located in Annapolis, Maryland. The Library is in the first floor of the Courts of Appeals Building, just outside of downtown Annapolis at 361 Rowe Boulevard, just one block south of the Navy Stadium.

Hours of Operation

Notice: Beginning January 2, 2025, the Maryland Thurgood Marshall State Law Library is changing its hours of operation. To better align with community usage trends, the Library will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • The Library's Special Collections Room is open to the public by appointment.
