In this topic, you will request time off for bereavement.
Steps:
Click the My HR tab.
Step 1Click the Absence Request link.
Step 2When submitting an absence request from the Request Absence page, you should only request an absence for the current date or a future date.
If you need to enter an absence for a past date, please use the timesheet.
Step 3Double-click in the Start Date field.
Step 4To clear the field,
Press [Backspace].
Step 5Click the Filter by Type drop-down list.
Step 7Click the Administrative Leave list item.
Step 8Click the Absence Name drop-down list.
Step 9Click the Admin Leave Take list item.
Step 10Click the Reason drop-down list.
Step 11Click the Bereavement list item.
Step 12Click in the Duration field.
Step 13Click the Calculate End Date or Duration button.
Step 15The End Date automatically populates the last date of the absence request based on the hours of Duration.
For this example, the employee requested 24 hours or 3 days.
Step 16Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 17Click the Submit button.
Step 18To acknowledge the message for documentation, click the OK button.
Step 19To submit the absence request, click the Yes button.
Step 20Click the OK button.
Step 21After submission, the absence request is routed to the employee's Manager for approval.
Step 22Some leave, such as bereavement and jury duty, require supporting documentation. You can use the Attach Documentation link to attach supporting documents. It is recommended that you do not upload medical documentation into CONNECT.

Step 23Click the Home link.
Step 24Click the Sign out link.
