In this topic, you will request bereavement leave from your timesheet.
Since bereavement is not an accrued leave, it does not require forecasting.
Steps:
Click the My HR tab.
Step 1Click the Timesheet link.
Step 2Click the Next Period link.
Step 3Notice the employee has already submitted absence requests for 16 hours of Annual Leave - Sick.
Step 4Click the Absence tab.
Step 5Click the Add Absence Event button.
Step 6Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 7Double-click in the End Date field.
Step 8To clear the field,
Press [Backspace].
Step 9Click the Absence Name drop-down list.
Step 11Click the Bereavement Leave Take list item.
Step 12Click the Reason drop-down list.
Step 13Click the Bereavement list item.
Step 14Click the Details link.
Step 15Click the Calculate End Date or Duration button.
Step 16The Duration will automatically populate if the Start Date and End Date fields are completed.
For this example, the employee requested 3 days off or 24 hours.
Step 17Click the OK button.
Step 18Click the Submit button.
Step 19To acknowledge the message for documentation, click the OK button.
Step 20This message is alerting you to certify the reported time is accurate.
Click the OK button.
Step 21Click the OK button.
Step 22Notice the Status for the absence request is Needs Approval.
Step 23Click the Home link.
Step 24Click the Sign out link.
