In this topic, you will search the learning catalog for a specific class, realize the class doesn't exist, then request the class to be created.
Steps:
Click the Learning Dashboard tab.
Step 1Click the Find Learning link.
Step 2Note: Before submitting a request for a new course or class, it is important to search the catalog first to ensure the desired course/class doesn't currently exist.
Step 3Click in the Search by keyword field.
Step 4Click the Search button.
Step 6Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 7Notice there are several Excel courses in the catalog but none of the courses have scheduled classes.
Step 8Click the Vertical scrollbar to move back up the page.
Step 9Click the Request New Learning link.
Step 10The Learning Request function provides the ability to either request a new class for an existing course or request a new course.
In this example, you will request a new class for the Level 1 Microsoft Excel course.
Step 11Click in the Course field.
Step 12Click the Search button.
Step 14Click the Select button for the course in which you are requesting the class.
Step 15Notice the course you selected is populated in the Course field.
Step 16The Learning Request Preferences allow you to specify your desired preferences for the class such as:
• Date range
• Days of the week
• Facility
• Instructor
Remember, these are your desired preferences but does not guarantee that a learning administrator will create the class based solely on these preferences.
Step 17Click the Priority drop-down list.
Step 18Click the Required for job list item.
Step 19Click the Delivery Method drop-down list.
Step 20Click the Classroom list item.
Step 21Click in the Start Dates From field.
Step 22Click in the Start Dates To field.
Step 24Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 26Click the Monday option.
Step 27Click the Tuesday option.
Step 28Click the Wednesday option.
Step 29Click the Thursday caret.
Step 30Click the Times drop-down list.
Step 31Click the Afternoon list item.
Step 32Click the Request Enrollment option.
Step 33Note: By selecting Request Enrollment, you are requesting the person creating the class to enroll you afterwards.
Step 34Click the Facility drop-down list.
Step 35Click the Judicial Education & Conference Center list item.
Step 36Click the Submit Request button.
Step 37Notice the message indicating the request was submitted successfully.
Step 38Click the Home link.
Step 39Click the Sign out link.
