In this topic, you will search the learning catalog for a specific class, realize the class doesn't exist, then request the class to be created.
Steps:
Click in the User ID field.

Step 6Click the Self Service menu.
Step 7Click the Learning menu.
Step 8Click the Find Learning menu.
Step 9Note: Before submitting a request for a new course or class, it is important to search the catalog first to ensure the desired course/class doesn't currently exist.
Step 10Click in the Search by keyword field.
Step 11Click the Search button.
Step 13Click the Vertical scrollbar to move down the page.
Step 14Notice there are several Excel courses in the catalog but none of the courses have scheduled classes.
Step 15Click the Vertical scrollbar to move back up the page.
Step 16Click the Request New Learning link.
Step 17The Learning Request function provides the ability to either request a new class for an existing course or request a new course.
In this example, you will request a new class for the Level 1 Microsoft Excel course.
Step 18Click in the Course field.
Step 19Click the Search button.
Step 21Click the Select button for the course in which you are requesting the class.
Step 22Notice the course you selected is populated in the Course field.
Step 23The Learning Request Preferences allow you to specify your desired preferences for the class such as:
• Date range
• Days of the week
• Facility
• Instructor
Remember, these are your desired preferences but does not guarantee that a learning administrator will create the class based solely on these preferences.
Step 24Click the Priority drop-down list.
Step 25Click the Required for job list item.
Step 26Click the Delivery Method drop-down list.
Step 27Click the Classroom list item.
Step 28Click in the Start Dates From field.
Step 29Click in the Start Dates To field.

Step 40Note: By selecting Request Enrollment, you are requesting the person creating the class to enroll you afterwards.
