Rent Court for Tenants Part 2: Right of Redemption and Eviction

Please note that the law changed as of October 1, 2024. After a judgment is entered against you in rent court, the court may issue a Warrant of Restitution no sooner than the eighth business day after the judgment was entered.

Rent Court is a term used to refer to Failure to Pay Rent cases heard in the Maryland District Court. These cases are filed by landlords against tenants.
