Chief Judge to Deliver State of the Judiciary Address to General Assembly

(ANNAPOLIS, Md. – February 6, 2015) Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera of the Maryland Court of Appeals will deliver the State of the Judiciary address before a joint session of the General Assembly at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the State House in Annapolis. The chief judge’s speech will be the first judicial address to both chambers of the General Assembly since 2005.

This is Chief Judge Barbera’s first State of the Judiciary address. Chief Judge Barbera was appointed in July 2013 to lead the state’s highest court, and she is the first woman in Maryland’s history to lead the state’s judicial branch. The chief judge will present a vision for the future of the Maryland Judiciary and its mission to serve the people of Maryland.
