The Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities ("Commission") is an independent body with the power to investigate complaints against Maryland judges and justices and, when warranted, conduct hearings concerning such complaints and take certain actions or make recommendations for other actions to the Supreme Court of Maryland. Through the exercise of its powers, the Commission plays an important role in promoting public confidence in, and preserving, the integrity and independence of the judiciary.
