Information for Attorneys Who Have Been Temporarily Suspended
Instructions for reinstatement following a Temporary Suspension for failure to pay the annual assessment and/or report federal tax identification number information.
- Reinstatement Orders are issued by the Supreme Court of Maryland every Monday. In order to be included in the Order, you must make payment of all outstanding fees owed to the Client Protection Fund ("CPF") and report your TIN information, if required, by end of business Friday. Please contact CPF at (410) 630-8140 for further instruction and opening of the payment portal.
- ADDITIONALLY, you must pay a separate reinstatement fee of $50.00 to the Supreme Court of Maryland. Payment may be made by check or money order payable to "Supreme Court of Maryland" and mailed to the address below. Be sure to include your attorney account number and note that the payment is for reinstatement.

Reinstatement will not occur until you have completed all payment and/or TIN reporting obligations with CPF and the Supreme Court of Maryland.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are also decertified for failure to file the mandatory Pro Bono and/or IOLTA reports, you will not be in good standing until all obligations have been met. Information for recertification for Pro Bono and/or IOLTA may be found here.
