Transcript/Audio Recorded Material Request

Complete and submit the Transcript/Audio Recorded Material Request Form below to request a transcript. All transcript requests involving minors will require authorization by the Court which delays processing. Once your request has been received, you will be provided an estimate for the cost of the transcript, the required deposit amount, and the projected completion date. No oral or telephone requests will be honored without delivery to the Court Administrator of the Transcript Request Form.

Written transcripts are not prepared by the Chief Court Reporter but are sent to a court-certified third-party vendor for preparation. The third-party vendor will be provided your name and contact number. If you do not wish to utilize the third-party vendor selected by the Court, you have the option of purchasing an audio CD and having it transcribed by your vendor of choice. However, you are solely responsible for making sure said vendor is in compliance with the requirements of the Court.

TYPED TRANSCRIPT FEES

The cost for typed transcripts is based on the number of estimated pages and the requested turn-around time. After submission of the transcript request form, the transcriptionist will contact you directly with an estimated cost. Payment in full (cash or money order) must be made directly to the transcriptionist before the transcript is typed.

Minimum charge for first-time preparation of transcript: $30.00 plus shipping and handling.

Minimum charge for copy of previously transcribed material: $15.00 plus shipping and handling.

AUDIO RECORDED MATERIAL DISC COSTS:

$15.00 per audio recorded material disc if picked up in person
$20.00 per audio recorded material disc if mailed regular mail.

Form of Payment: Money Order made payable to Commissioners of St. Mary’s County. NO PERSONAL CHECKS, CASH PAYMENTS OR CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS are accepted for audio recorded material discs.

REQUESTING TRANSCRIPTS/AUDIO RECORDED MATERIAL

Audio Recorded Material discs may be furnished directly to a certified court reporting service engaged by the Chief Reporter for any pending transcript requests.

Transcript requests by parties of record, attorneys of record, or other parties must be in writing, via e-mail or postal mail. No requests will be accepted over the telephone.
